Loginless Client Token

Client Tokens enable remote administrators to support the automatic claim of application deployments through centralized App Distribution. Client tokens are used to support administrators for the bulk deployment methods documented above.

Create a Client Token

  1. Go to the ACCOUNT menu > Manage All Accounts.
  2. Select an Account from the list.
  3. Select App Deployment from the side tabs.
  4. Select the App to create a Client Token for.
  5. In the Loginless Client Token section, select Add New.
  6. Enter a Client Token Name and select Create.
  7. The Client Token will display on the Client Tokens list ready to be used.

Things to Consider

  • Bulk deployment through Client Token Claim (Loginless deployment) overrides and removes the ability for the end user to sign into the application directly.
  • Once Loginless is deployed, machines and users may not appear the same if previous mechanisms were used to claim users into the account. We recommend that IT Admins who had older Poly Studio Desktop versions installed manually delete these instances of Device Users from Poly Lens to clean their views.
  • HP does not support installing over the exact same version of Studio Desktop, if modifications need to be made to the same version, we recommend IT admins to first uninstall the Studio Desktop client software.
  • We recommend IT Admins to first uninstall instances of their Plantronics Hub when deploying Studio Desktop client. Failure to do so will create complications in their device management.

Loginless Configuration

The Loginless feature allows you to set up a Poly Studio Client to open to a specific Account, without logging in. See HP Poly Studio Desktop - Loginless for detailed instructions.

Directory Integration

The Directory Integrations feature allows an admin to automatically onboard Device Users and their associated devices, based on the login domain they used to access the HP Poly Studio Desktop app. Once the appropriate access has been granted to Poly Lens, this method provides the most streamlined HP Poly Studio Desktop app onboarding experience by automatically associating the Device Users to the correct account in Poly Lens, regardless of how they obtained their Poly Studio Desktop app. With this method, the Poly Studio Desktop app can be distributed using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, formerly System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), emailed out using the tools in Poly Lens, or directly downloaded from the Download options listed at the top of the Poly Studio App page.

Invite Device Users via Email

If you don't distribute software to your device users, you can invite them to download HP Poly Studio Desktop with a unique URL sent via email. Once installed, they can sign up via SSO or with their corporate email account, and they will be associated to the appropriate Poly Lens Account.

  1. Go to ACCOUNT menu > Manage All Accounts.
  2. Select your Account from the list.
  3. Select App Deployment from the side tabs.
  4. Select the App to send the email invite from.
  5. Select Send Email Invite.
  6. Enter the email address of the individual to invite.
Note: You can enter multiple email addresses at one time, separated by a comma or a semicolon.
  7. Verify if you would like the Email Validated. If this option is selected it requires that the user name of the User accepting the invite matches the email address to which the invite was sent. It is recommended that this security feature only be disables when you know that the invitee's username and email address are different.
  8. Select Add. A confirmation message displays listing the email addresses the invitation has been sent to.
  9. The invitee will open the email on the device they will install the app and select Get Started to accept the invitation.
  10. Select Download. The msi file will be downloaded on their device. Select Install to complete the setup.
Note: The email sent to the invitee, may be used for all Poly Studio Apps as needed to download the App msi file.
  11. When the App is setup and a device is attached to the App, it will display in the Device Users section.
Note: For Detailed information on a Poly Studio App, locate the App User Guide on the Device Documentation section.
